Established in 1913 by Mario Prada in Milan, Italy as a high-end tourist shop that carried imported leather goods from England for rich Italians. Prada has grown amazingly in the last hundred years reaching new heights, making over 2 billion dollars a year.
All the current success of Prada is due to the changes done to Mario’s granddaughter Miuccia. It was Miuccia who stopped importing leather goods from England and started designing what we now know as ‘Classic’ Prada.
Each of the different Prada boutiques around the world is designed by a different architect, in 2012 Prada opened its largest boutique to date in the Middle East designed by architect Robert Baciocchi.
