I was thrilled to have the chance to see veteran fashion designer Maggie Barry’s latest runway show during spring / summer 2013 LA Fashion Week.
As a designer, Maggie Barry gained worldwide fame as the creative genius behind Cher’s famous leather thong outfit in the music video “Turn Back Time.” Over the past year Maggie has crafted one of a kind pieces for musical superstars like Lady Gaga and Miss J. Alexander.
Her latest collection, spring / summer 2013, showcased at LA Fashion Week, seemed to be Maggie’s re-imaginations of fashion worn in the scifi film “Barbarella” starring Jane Fonda. Her individual pieces are infused with the philosophy that art is fashion.
