Full Figure Fashion Week 2010
Featuring the hottest designers for curvy kittens; Full Figure Fashion Week is set to kick off in New York City June 16th through the 20th. This fabulous event will be hosted by model, author, designer and icon Emme.
Emme boasts a diverse career including previously hosting Fashion Emergency on E! where she gave fashion advice to women of all ages. She also posts for The Living channel at The Huffington Post on body image, self esteem, and related matters. And she is the author of four books including Life’s Little Emergencies: Everyday Rescue for Beauty, Fashion, Relationships, and Life.
There are several events planned; opening night on Wednesday June 16th is the Runway Event and Press Reception with a runway showcase featuring the collections of designers from across the nation including Ava Jones of Pheline, Veronica Lipscomb of Tru Diva and Jessica Mealy, Katie Burke and Renee Lethbridge of Lotis.
The Full Figured and Fabulous Runway Competition takes place the following night and will be hosted by actor Grizz Chapman of 30 Rock fame. Plus models will compete for cash prizes in front of a panel of accredited judges.
Friday June 18th features a variety of panel discussions and seminars including The State of the Curvy Community – A Panel Discussion and the New and Aspiring Models Panel Discussion/ Seminar hosted by Sharon Quinn. Ms. Quinn is a Plus Model, Actress, Singer and Writer. The Star of Mo’Nique’s FAT Chance, MTV’s MADE, Cash Cab and Throwdown With Bobby Flay. She is most recently seen on The Style Network’s Ruby.
On Saturday the 19th plus size fashion blogger and stylist Marie Denee (The Curvy Fashionista) will be hosting a shopping excursion to take you inside the showrooms, boutiques, and designers who cater to curves. Full Figured Fashion – The Shopping Excursion will include travel throughout NYC in style with an executive coach service, access to the latest designers and retailers, special gifts for participants and much more.
You can also catch The Pivotal Experience Seminar – Cutting edge in fashion and habits of health during the day and round out the evening with the Finale Event Red Carpet Arrivals and VIP Cocktail Reception and the Semi-Formal Finale Runway Showcase, Awards Ceremony and Afterparty Event scheduled to go until the champagne runs out at 3 a.m.
Sunday the 20th is the Farewell Brunch at the Taj Lounge on West 21st Street at noon.
