Girls & Big Bands, The Next Generation of Heineken

I have to hand it to Heineken, over the last two years they have produced some of the best made commercials to grace television in the last decade.

It all started in 2011 with the launch of Heineken’s latest global campaign ‘The Entrance.’ The story behind ‘The Entrance’ speaks of our hero showcasing his now legendary perfect party entrance – him charming his way past an oil baron, kung fu assassins and others in this opium den like club ending up at the stage where the blonde vixen of The Asteroids Galaxy Tour is performing their latest single, “The Golden Age.”

“She has an adorable voice, she is so cute and lovely. This music is so funny and awesome.” @montebubbles

“So nice!! It has fun with music and keeps the scenes connected.” @MichelleCvCM

The whole concept for ‘The Entrance’ comes from the ads agency of Heineken in Europe, Wieden & Kennedy, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. ‘The Entrance’ was released in January 2011.

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour lyrics used in the commercial : Lead Vocalist Mette Lindberg
“I wish I lived in the Golden Age giving it up on the Broadway stage
Hang with the rats and smoke cigars have a break with Frank and count the stars.
Dressed to the night, we’ve had to much. Shiny jewels, casino cash
Tapping feet wanna take the lead A trip back in time is all I need…”

The “Entrance” was shot in Barcelona, Spain, and stars the delicious French actor Eric Monjoin.
“With this campaign, Heineken recognizes the legend in all of its drinkers. Men who know their way around and recognize a fine beer when they taste one,” Wieden & Kennedy creative directors Mark Bernath and Eric Quennoy said in a statement.

All this works to establish Heineken’s new brand message ‘Open Your World’, conveying the brand’s worldly, open-minded and confident personality to a new global audience.
